Beholder Drawings 2009

This was the year in which I went back to an old concept regarding Beholders, having these really bright burning central eyes. The drawing above was done for COW #156 (Creature of the Week) prompt on conceptart.org with the prompt "Red Hot Doom." Below are a couple of sketches with the same theme.

Black Tooth Cave Dweller

This was done sometime in 2009 as a COW (Creature of the Week) #154 over at conceptart.org withg the "Hanging Upside Down" prompt. The idea is that this little cutie hangs in caves, waiting for guests to arrive.

Naga

This started as a really cool ink sketch. However, it scanned horribly, there's something about the ink which reflects during the scan process and makes the entire image look bad. I actually made this drawing sometime in 2023 and have been fiddling by painting it over in Photoshop in an attempt to make it look decent. I'md rather happy with the end result now and want to move on to other pieces.

Zalei Ironhand

This is the original, first art, of a character from the Eternal Seven story. The concept has since been refined, but I love this old pencil drawing made sometime in 2006. Color is a simple overlay done in Photoshop.

Empath Demon

This is an ink drawing from 2015.

Ironically, this is also my most stolen artowrk. I've seen multiple instances on the internet where this artowrk was claimed/stolen by other artists, in some instances generating quite a lot of likes and comments. Once again proving I'm terrible at marketing myself and generating exposure for my art. It's ok though, at least I'm making the art. Maybe long after I'm dead my art will be worth something. For now it's just a release for me, and that is the ultimate point in art. Cheers!

K'Chain Che'Malle

Pencil drawing of a creature from the Malazan Empire series by Steven Erikson. Made in 2011, it was one of my finest artworks that I am most proud of.

Silchas Ruin

A character from the Malazan Empire series by Steven Erikson. While he isn't my favorite, he certainly comes close.
This was all done in Photoshop, sometime in late 2014 and early 2015.

Lok Tar Ogar

It's an orc from Warcraft video game. This is one of my first fully digital concept sketches. It was made in 2008 with Photoshop and experimenting with some brushes. It was later touched up in 2019.

Scaled Hounds - Sketch from February 2019

One of my favorite things to do during meetings is to draw. Sometimes people think I'm not listening, but I can breathe and chew bubble gum at the same time too!

New Sketchies

I've been busy lately working on a major drawing.  Something much more complicated than anything I've ever done before.

Meanwhile, here's a new set of ink sketches, I'm considering painting over the middle one.

The character on the right was inspired from some random drawing I encountered online. Ballpoint pen ink, made in 2018.

Carrier Demon - Digital Painting from 2007

Carreir Demons are an original concept of mine developed sometime in the 90s. They are the torturers of whores and prostitutes in Hell. Their standing in the hierarchy of Hell is rather low, they are merely a step above regular devils and demon grunts. But Carrier Demons are physically very powerful, more intimidating in stature, and as common amongst all demons, immune to the fire element despite their ability to manifest in actual flesh.

Victims of Carriers get strapped to the demon's spike covered back in a prone pose, unable to move. The spikes of the demons have incredible regenerative and healing properties. Despite the pain inflicted upon the victim during the strapdown process, the spikes ensure the victim retains some fragment of sanity. Once the strapdown is complete, the Carriers go about their business in Hell, and their victims get raped, eviscerated, shredded, only to heal up to experience a new form of torture. This goes on until the victim's very soul gives up over time on the eternal scale, and is consumed by the demon...

This was a pencil sketch which was painted over in Photoshop, made around 2006, 2007 timeframe. This is also one of my first full digital illustrations. I have never been good in terms of backgrounds and no painting symbolizes this more than this one. This is also one of the first posts I made to this blog, I'm very proud of this creation of mine.
