Of Fire and Ice - Stibnite

This is a sketch from 2012 that also had another figure in the background. The drawing got heavily reworked and was never published before. I colorized it for the #Huevember2025 challenge over at Cara.app

The challenge was to use certain hue or color in an artwork on a specific day. On the 19th and 20th day of November the hue was "Stibnite" which is a grey-ish metal alloy which is toxic. The hues shown in the color picker for the challenge were very blue-ish though. I decided to use both a color layer to shift the drawing's colors to the blue and a gradient map with the dark values mapping to stibnite but the lighter values being mapped to warmer orange and red hues which were also part of the overall color pallete for the month of November.

The character is a fire witch.

Amanita the Axehead Assassin

This character design started as something akin to the mushroom people from Mario world, but as I went along I changed it to look more like a metallic weapon that's fused on or part of the head. Really enjoying working with pencils again last couple weeks.

Cleaned up and revised digitally, but I wanted to keep the intial pencil sketch look.

Elven Prisoner - Drawing from 2014

This is a painted over pencil drawing from 2014 that was never finished and never published. There was no particular reason I made this drawing, just a sketch.

Here's the work-in-progress animated GIF showing how the drawing was altered. The actual sketch wasn't anything special, but I liked it enough to paint over it. No references were used.

Beholder - Digital Paintover 2024

This is another sketch that I intended to paint over for a long time. The original tiny ink sketch was made in 2022. Finally got around to it in the last week and here's the result. Unfortunately I lost the high-res file in the process of finalizing the image and creating the WIP animation.

Vampire

Centaur Warrior with Armor

This is a digital painting done in 2012. The original was NSFW, I touched it up in 2024 to make it more... user friendly! Entirely done in Photoshop.

Dryad Queen

This was a digital painting done for one of my favorite art streamers Stumpyfongo. He used to stream a lot in the midst of COVID, and I hung out there quite a bit while trying to do other stuff in the background. This specific drawing was done as part of a Lost Woods challenge, where participants had to draw characters they would find in a deep fantasy forest. I loved it!

The original concept sketch, I settled on the left one.

Spike Head Girl

Tree Dragon

Done sometime in 2009, as part of a COW #154 (Creature of the Week) challenge on conceptart.org with the prompt of "Hanging Upside Down." This was all painted in Photoshop.

The Hatchling

This little dragon is protecting her brother. This was mostly done in Clip Studio Paint.
 

Elric and the Sad Giant

This is an illustration from 2010, done mostly in Photoshop. If you're not familiar with the hero and the story, I suggest you look into it. Highly recommended.

The Duel

This is a pencil drawing from 2006 (I think) that was colored digitally in Photoshop. It represents about the peak of my art skills at the time. I did this for a Blizzard art challenge that was posted online and the drawing represents a couple of characters from Warcraft. When I look back at this now, it looks terrible, but I still love it.

Ars Goetia 61 - Zagan

Zagan, one of the nine Kings of Hell.

A very powerful entity who commands over thirty three legions of demons. Listed as the sixty first demon described in the Lesser Key of Solomon. He is classified as both President and King, both titles symbolic of the power and sway he has within the infernal abyss.

When summoned, Zagan often assumes the shape of a winged bull, but will transform into a man some time after being conjured. He has the power to turn water into wine, blood into wine, and back again. He also has the power to turn any metal into coins. It is said that he can impart great knowledge upon any man, and even turn a fool wise.
