Tree Dragon

Done sometime in 2009, as part of a COW #154 (Creature of the Week) challenge on conceptart.org with the prompt of "Hanging Upside Down." This was all painted in Photoshop.

Amalgamation

This is probably the first time in the history of this blog that I am actually posting current work! This guy aims to answer the question "what would happen if your already thick neck grew an extra set of arms?" ... and stuff!
This is the original ballpoint pen ink sketch from 2022. As you can see it didn't change much between the original and the final painting which was done with Photoshop.

Ars Goetia 61 - Zagan

Zagan, one of the nine Kings of Hell.

A very powerful entity who commands over thirty three legions of demons. Listed as the sixty first demon described in the Lesser Key of Solomon. He is classified as both President and King, both titles symbolic of the power and sway he has within the infernal abyss.

When summoned, Zagan often assumes the shape of a winged bull, but will transform into a man some time after being conjured. He has the power to turn water into wine, blood into wine, and back again. He also has the power to turn any metal into coins. It is said that he can impart great knowledge upon any man, and even turn a fool wise.

Crystal Clear

Digital painting from 2009, though it may not be obvious a reference was used for the figure.

Pantiless Assassin 2018

There once was a thread on conceptart.org that ran for many years, of people adding these female character assassins that were not fans of under garments. This original sketch was made in 2008 and finshed about a decade later.
And there's the WIP, this was all done digitally, with Photoshop and Procreate.

The Morrigan

The Morrigan is a goddess from Irish Myth.

This drawing was "updated" in 2018 but was originally made for a 2008 Character of the Week (ChOW) challenge at the now defunct conceptart.org website.

Lok Tar Ogar

It's an orc from Warcraft video game. This is one of my first fully digital concept sketches. It was made in 2008 with Photoshop and experimenting with some brushes. It was later touched up in 2019.

Karsa Orlong - The God is Not Willing

Karsa Orlong is one of the central characters in the Malazan Empire series by author Steven Erikson. This is my interpretation of him. I made this drawing in 2019 when news first broke of a follow-up series to the main Malazan books focused on Karsa.
This drawing started as a ballpoint pen ink sketch that I colorded and finished up digitally.

Green Lipstick

This is a 2 hour practice sketch I made on the iPad in Procreate, early 2018. I used a random photo as a reference.

Genie in the Lamp

I worked on this drawing from 2011 until 2018, little by little, until I had a major breakthrough with it finally and got it to a stage I consider "finished."

Below is an animated GIF.  I made this using an old antiquated piece of software (Magic Morph) that is useful in morphing images from one to another.  For example, you can take two portraits and make the face morph into another face, similar to Michael Jackson's Black or White video.  Rather than starting with two different images, I started and ended with the same image, and used control points to animate the background and foreground smoke effects.  I'm really happy with how this turned out.
