Blue Dragon

Blue Dragon Drawing - April 2025
This is a recent ink sketch which has been digitally modified. This sketch was not very well planned out, I was just scribbling on a piece of paper, trying to get the blue ink flowing from a pen that had not been used for years. At some point a wild dragon appeared! Done in April 2025.

Tyrion Lannister Drawing from 2008

Tyrion Lannister - Drawing from 2008
This is another throwback artwork from the archives...

The HBO series for Game of Thrones started showing in 2011 apparently. I actually read Game of Thrones book in 1996 shortly after it was released and to this day I still have PTSD from waiting on GRRM to release the next book in the series. I was at the University at the time, and remember getting a stomach bug, after puking my guts out for a few days I picked this book up from the Library, mostly because I thought the name "Game of Thrones" was kind of stupid and pretentious. It was on the shelf right next to a copy of a volume from Black Company! Should've went with Black Company! Great series, nothing to complain about there.

Despite my dislike of the title or the author of this series, I liked reading the books and especially enjoyed the characters. The fact that nobody was safe after the first book created an allure to this series. The dialogue was brilliant, and the political intrigue was incredible. I am so glad HBO picked up the series and did it justice, especially the parts for which there was written materials. There were a few things I did NOT like about the HBO series, but nothing is perfect...

One of the things I disliked the most about the HBO series was the casting of certain characters, chief of which was the choice for Peter Dinklage to portray the main character of the series. Don't take this the wrong way, I think Dinklage did a great job with his acting, but Tyrion is supposed to be ugly and disfigured. Dinklage is entirely too pretty for the role! In my humble opinion, Tyrion should actually look like GRRM himself, but younger, more out of shape, and also disfigured. There's even a incident in battle that results in him losing parts of his face and nose, but in the HBO series they kind of made him even prettier after that!

This here pencil drawing was made sometime in 2008 and portrayes Tyrion as I imagined him from reading the books, before the HBO series came out.

Now tell me, how much did you like the ending of the HBO series? I know you loved it!

Pocket Dog

Hellhound
Some Hellhounds really do think they are pocket dogs. This guy likes his little duck and will fight you for it!
Hellhound Detail
This illustration was originally created for a challenge back in 2010, but as has been the theme in my art recently, I went back and polished it up in 2024.

Warrior - Sketch from 2010

Warrior - Sketch from 2010
Another sketch from 2010 that I recently uncovered. I remember working on this one and loving the way it turned out at the time. This was a pencil sketch that was painted over in Photoshop.

Nibru - Character Design from 2009/2010

Nibru - Character Design from 2009 2010
This has been a theme lately with my art. As I've stood this website to showcase some of my art I've been going through some really OLD stuff. This particular drawing was started back in 2010, but at first I couldn't remember the details as to why I even started it. I knew it wasn't my character, if nothing else due to the name. I started searching online and found THIS POST by nJoo on DeviantArt... and oh the memories flooded back. This was almost a meme on conceptart.org, as some random person posted a request to have his character drawn. If you've been on art community websites this is a constant occurrence, which normally results in everyone ignoring it. However, in this particular instance, EVERYONE took a stab at designing the character based on the brief, including some famous artists like the one I linked to. I also decided to do it, but never finished the image. Last night as the memories of this event came back I decided to just push the piece a bit more and get it polished up as I liked some of the things I'd done in that sketch.
And here's the WIP. The entire thing, including the original sketch, were done in Photoshop. Cheers!

Sword Hand

Sword Hand - Drawing from 2009 updated in 2024
This is a drawing from 2009. At the time I made this drawing I was a member of a team on conceptart.org which was called Doomsday Dream Clan, and we were in the midst of trying to participate in a team challenge. One of our team members was a young kid whose online handle was "Sword Hand" and I made this drawing in his honor. A reference of Adriana Lima was used for the face, but outside of that it was made up. Now about 15 years later I stumbled upon the original drawing while browsing my old archive and had to touch it up. If any of my old teammates stumble upon this, hit me up, miss you guys!

Soul Catcher - Black Company

Soul Catcher from Black Company
This is a drawing depicting my take on Soul Catcher, one of the iconic characters in the Black Company series of fantasy books by Glen Cook. This character starts out as a mystery, and as you progress through the book you find out more about them. One of the terrifying powers Catcher has is the ability to mimic anyone's voice. I love the Black Company series, the characters, the way the story is told from the perspective of the weak, the journeys the company goes through, the triumphs and tragedies... I highly recommend it. This series has served as an inspiration for art and other famous authors were also inspired by the story.

This ballpoint pen ink sketch was made in 2019.

Balo the Burnt

Balo the Burnt
This is an ink sketch which was painted over digitally. The original sketch was very small, maybe 2 inches across, and was made in 2023. However, the final drawing was completed in June 2024. The character is also known as Balo the Runt and if you encounter this name while playing Elden Ring, it's probably me.

The Spear of Destiny

The Spear of Destiny - Drawing from 2016
This is a digital artwork from 2016. This was generally a bad year for me in terms of art, but this piece is one of my more complete ones I made at the time. It was originally NSFW but I've cleaned that up a little with the handy use of a boob strap!

Little bit of trivia, this weapon design and drawing was originally posted online in 2016. Dark Souls III expansion called The Ringed City came out in 2017. That game featured a weapon called The Splitleaf, which Miyazaki ripped off from my art and never gave me credit for. Thanks!

Olympian

Olympian Art from 2008
This is a drawing from 2008 that never really got finished or published anywhere. I just touched it up and brought it up to a more presentable state. I used to make some pretty cool stuff, don't have the same drive anymore.

Magicka Character

Magicka Character Drawing
I loved the game Magicka. Can't recommend it enough. Such a wild and unexpectedly cool game back in the day with some really neat little mage characters that have unlimited magic power. This is my take on a character fromt he game. I made this drawing sometime towards the end of 2013 and it was all done in Photoshop.

Alpha

Alpha
This is a drawing made in 2006 or 2007 that was painted over digitally, and updated yet again in 2024. It's actually a drawing I had lost over the years, I could not locate the PSD file for this work, but found a low res image online on one of my other sites. The character is from the Eternal Seven story.

The character is a lesser demon from the Eternal Seven storyline.

Sorry

This is my interpretation of a character from the Malazan Empire series of books by Steven Erikson. The story begins with Sorry, also known as Apsalar, and she indeed becomes a massively powerful character as the story progresses.

Acid

Acid - Creature Design
This is a creature I designed as part of a challenge on conceptart.org with the prompt "Deaf, Blind, Acid Spitter." The idea I had about the creature is that it really wasn't blind despite not having eyes. The spikes on its head are hollow and function similar to antennas, such that they can pick up vibrations. The creature is able to sense the vibrations around it and actually have a very good sense of its surroundings. This creature is not actually too large, but is extremely fast and dangerous. Its sharp teeth and claws can shred flesh instantly, and the acid spewing, spike covered bulge on the tip of its tail is a weapon able to crush hard targets and inflict acid and deadly toxins into the bloodstream.
Acid Pencil Sketch from 2011
This started as a pencil drawing in 2011, which was then painted over. This was also a pivotal drawing for me, as it caused me to leave the CG Society website. This website was a great resource, but as I went to post this article into my profile it was not allowed because of of the admins there was a royal cnt and had it out for me. Rather than try to seek clarificaiton I just left the website and never looked back. I did see the entire portal went down recently, hope the worst for that admin. For anyone who was around that website, you can probably guess who I'm talking about.

Morgis the Dragon Knight

Morgis the Dragon Knight
Back in the day I used to read quite a lot of fantasy. Years ago it was normal for me to get on a stair-mill in the gym, crack a novel open, and do slow burn cariod for hours while reading away. Sadly this habit has gone away. I rarely do stairmill now, and usually spend time on the treadmill these days. Running is much harder for me though, and I can't read while doing that, nor can I last as long even at a slow pace...

This is a pencil drawing I made in 2012, of a character from a novel by Richard Knaak which is part of a the Legends of the Dragonrealm series. I vaguely remember bits and pieces from these novels, probably need to read the books again to get the details. What was really interesting to me regarding this particular series were the dragons and some of their abilities. The ruling dragons had distinct elemental abilities, and one of the outcast dragon kings was Blue who I believe was an ice dragon. In the series, some dragons could transform into humanoids. They were still dragons, just looking like giant heavilty armored knights. Years later, I don't remember as to why the dragons did those transformations, perhaps to help them make themselves more relatable to the humans. I did find Morgis the Dragon Knight character interesting enough to draw him though. He appears in some of the earlier books, and later becomes a major character in one of the books. Very powerful, if I remember correctly Morgis was actually a son of Blue, and there was a failed love angle in his story that did not have a happy ending. I like it when some endings aren't happy...

Either way, this drawing has been slightly tweaked in Photoshop, but not to the usual extent I like to paint over my sketches. It is actually fairly large drawing, much larger than the usual format for my sketches. I did intend to paint over it, but as with many of my failed paintings, never got around to it.

Anime Twinblade Girl Design

Anime Twinblade Girl Design
This was a character I designed and drew sometime in 2012. I'm not good at this art style, haven't really studied it either. However, I like the way this turned out. It's not meeting the initial goal, but looks cool! I believe this did start as a pencil drawing that was painted over digitally.
